Due to the number of people of court, group tennis lessons tend to be more tactically based concentrating on set drills, matchplay and general technique rather than tailored in-depth analysis as offered in individual lessons. If you wish to form your own group, that’s no problem but in general, it’s best to keep to a maximum of 4 players to get the most out your group lesson. Book a group tennis lesson today.

Within a group tennis lesson, I’ll primarily look to work in a drill format that focusses on an agreed stroke that you and your fellow players wish to improve. After demonstrating the correct technique and footwork required, drills are then conducted through feeding in balls and analysing your shots as you take turns rotating in and out of court. This can be particularly good for working on consistency as well as providing you with the opportunity to learn from watching your fellow players.

One of the benefits of group tennis lessons as a coach is being able to analyse how you and your fellow player(s) perform in a match play environment whilst watching from the sideline. By concentrating on different aspects of the game (i.e. the serve and return), I can work with all the group to offer advice on how to improve both aspects.

Group tennis lessons offer a good opportunity to demonstrate various techniques that you can then practice together. From learning how altering your grip can affect spin through to focussing on your torso rotation and knee bend/extension, group tennis lessons offer a fun and relaxed environment to try a new technique away from the pressure of a match environment.
All group tennis lessons are 1-hour long and starts and take place unless of adverse weather conditions (excessive rain, strong winds etc.) All sessions take place at Bath Tennis Club and include court fees. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your lesson. Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance might be charged in full.
